Cascata Golf Club
About
36 holes of links-style golf suitable for all abilities
Opened in 2006 and designed by its owner, Cascata Golf Club offers 36 holes of excellent links-style golf around 70 minutes from Bangkok. The course is kept in great condition and features generous fairways, numerous water hazards and some of the best greens in the region. The A + B loop has enough to keep good golfers interested while providing opportunities for good scoring even for high handicappers, while the harder C + D loop, open since 2014, offer a tougher challenge thanks for some serious undulated topology.
While the A + B loop is dotted with trees, the course feels open and expansive, and the limited protection from the wind, blustery conditions are definitely a factor reckon with. The course is generally flat, with the challenge mainly coming in the form of the water that's in play on most holes.
Thankfully the fairways are pretty wide, and the generous greens give most golfers a shot at putting in regulation. The downside is that you can be left with some seriously long putts, and with the greens running super quick, three-putting is a real risk.
The C + D loop is more challenging. Playing at over 7,400 yards from the back tees and featuring undulating fairways, forced water carries and elevated greens, it's a course designed to challenge even the best of golfers.
The hacienda-style clubhouse features excellent modern facilities and good food at the Thai restaurant. Together with the 36 holes of excellent golf on offer, Cascata Golf Club is an excellent and easygoing choice on any Bangkok golf holiday.
Reviews
Challenging golf course
Always glad to return to this golf course to play again. Challenging golf course with great caddy able to assist in reading the green.I had fun and the course was enjoyable, but the facilities were disappointing.
The course is well-designed, beautiful, and at times challenging. The greens were fast and sloping, which made for some wild putts. Our caddies were playful and easy to be around, but their green reading skills needed much improvement. We had to ignore their advice completely after the fist 9 holes. Overall, the playing experience was enjoyable. Afterwards we ate in the restaurant, which served delicious Thai food. However, the clubs we rented were awful. When I have rented clubs at other courses, they give me brand new clubs built with the latest technology by the best brands. The clubs we were given were old and obviously cheap in quality. Very disappointing. Also, the clubhouse is showing its age, and there was a dead cockroach in my shower. The management would be wise to keep the place cleaner. An upgrade on the locker room facilities would be a good idea to attract repeat visitors. I felt that for the total amount of money we spent all together, we could have gotten better value elsewhere. Overall, the whole place had a run-down, tired sort of feel to it. Having said that, if you go just for the golf, you'll have a good time. The course is pretty well maintained and fun to play. Good for a day out with some friends. Enjoy.Great experience at cascata, had a good game
course condition was excellent including the putting green which is very challenging, the caddy cannot speak english n some of the caddy don't even know where your ball is.Course Info
