Thana City Country Club, located adjacent to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, is the sole golf course in Thailand designed by Greg Norman. Having hosted several prestigious professional tournaments, including the Thailand Open and the Johnnie Walker Super Tour, it's a chance to walk the same fairways as players such as Greg Norman, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els. Significantly improved following renovations, the result is a modern and enjoyable golf experience.
The landscaping incorporates native trees and flowering shrubs, along with plain grasses, reeds, and sand to create an illusion of seaside links. Strategically placed sculptured sand traps, natural streams, and lakes enhance the course. Accurate tee shots are required to avoid the mature trees lining the fairways, the plentiful fairway bunkers, and semi-rough that is quite wiry and challenging.
There are some intoxicating challenges, not least at the 9th which features a very challenging approach to a green that juts out into a large lake. A controlled draw or extreme bravery are required to reach the putting surface in regulation.
The more water-heavy back nine features a number of tough approaches over water, notably at the short par-3 14th with its peninsula green surrounded by sand, while the last is a memorable way to end. Even if your tee shot can find position A on the narrowing fairway, the approach into an attractive island green with bunkers either side is one to test the mettle of even the best golfer.
Facilities include a modern clubhouse, golf resort, driving range, practice facilities, and a golf academy. The pro shop is well-stocked and reasonably priced, and the dining options serve traditional Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and western dishes.
Overall, Thana City Country Club is a great option on your next Bangkok golf holiday.

Excellent quality from tee to green. A little bit congested as the golf was full, caddy knew the golf course and greens perfectlyVery slow pace mars an otherwise excellent day
It's a beautiful facility with great staff. Excellent caddies as well. But the pace was just so bad it spoilt the golf. We tee'd off at 1230pm on a weekday and only finished at 540pm! And we were a walking 4 ball.Very Good Experience
