The Royal Golf & Country Club
About
Challenging and scenic course near Suvarnabhumi airport
Located just 30 minutes away from central Bangkok, and a convenient 5-minutes from Suvarnabhumi International airport, the Royal Golf & Country Club makes a great choice for one final round on your next Bangkok golf holiday. Designed by Chohei Miyasawa from Japan, it's one of the most scenic golf courses in Bangkok, making the most of the natural terrain as it wanders through the many water features, mature trees and colourful plants.
The course boasts undulating fairways, plenty of water hazards, and tiered greens on nearly every hole. Separating each hole and the course from the surrounding housing, which is primarily owned by Thailand's elite, are canals. Notably, the front nine offers a splendid view of the 2006 Thai prime minister's home and backyard, providing golfers with a genuine "Royal Golf" experience.
With water all around, accuracy off the tee is a must, but even if you do find the middle of the fairway you'll likely face an uneven lie thanks to the bumps and hollows that are a feature of the course. The greens at the Royal are well-maintained and among the best in Bangkok, rolling fast year-round.
The par 3’s are particularly memorable mainly for their length, with two of them are more than 200 yards from the back tee and the 230-yard 17th having high handicappers reaching for the driver.
The run up the 17th is no less challenging. The 14th hole, a 409-yard par 4, demands two lengthy shots to reach the green in regulation, while the next hole, a par 5, is famous for its narrow fairway bordered by water. The tricky 16th hole, known as the "Mickey Mouse" hole because of its sand bunker resembling the famous Disney character, features two imposing "ears."
Away from the course itself, the Royal Golf & Country Club offers excellent practice facilities, including a putting green, pitching green, sand bunker, and grass driving range, making it an ideal place for a pre-round warm-up or practice session. The clubhouse is spacious, and the locker facilities are newly renovated, providing golfers with perfect post-game comforts.

Superschnelle Grüns aber fair. Course schon in die Jahre gekommen aber gepflegte Fairways. Preis/Leistung o.k. (Super fast greens but fair. Course getting old but well-kept fairways. price/performance o.k.)Flat and straight! Really boring
I've played 4 different courses during this trip and this and Muang Kaew have been by far the most boring courses I've played, in general, not just in Bangkok.Course Info
